What is intended to be a relaxing event can quickly turn ugly when dealing with unpredictable children emotions. Here's my tips to enjoy your children and food the next time you head to a restaurant.
1. PREPARE~If an online version of the menu is available, take a look at it before you go so you don't have to waste time deciding when you arrive at the restaurant.
2. TIME IT~ Going off pick will give you a less hectic atmosphere which has a tendency to distract and upset children and raise parents' blood pressure.
3. CHOOSE WISELY~ Some locations are better than others to take children to. Family oriented locations are going to be your best bet.
Bob Evans~ great kid's menu that includes pictures for you lil one to easily choose their meal.
Steak n Shake~ kid friendly and have free kid's meals on the weekend.
Fazoli's~ (Ethan's favorite!) Family style atmosphere and menu. $1.99 kid's meal Tuesday evening
ChickFila~ We love the infant toys in the kid's meals (usually a small board book perfect for the diaper bag) Customer service is outstanding. Love the principles that this company runs on! (and the food is super yummy too!)
Skyline~ Kids night Wednesdays with free kids meals (includes drink and dessert) and craft.
4. ENTERTAIN~ Bring snacks (cheerios, gold fish, raisins, etc) to entertain young children while you wait for food and/or special puzzle books that only come out at restaurants. (to keep them new, exciting, and engaging)
5. GET OUT~ When your food arrives, request your check. So you aren't stuck waiting for the bill when the kids are falling apart.
